On Thursday, 4 May 2023, the GSTT showcase begins, a six-day event featuring 7 of the performances produced by the German Theatre in recent years, both for its own stage and in collaboration with other cultural institutions.

Our theatre's mission is to promote, through classical and contemporary drama, German culture, both in Romania and abroad, to explore innovative European trends in the performing arts, and then to present in Timisoara diverse theatrical forms such as contemporary drama or classical texts staged in a contemporary style, documentary theatre or theatre with socio-political stakes, animation theatre or puppet theatre, innovative theatrical formats expressed through new media and performative elements.

This year Timisoara is the European Capital of Culture, and we believe that this is a good opportunity for a greater commitment and visibility of the German Theatre's cultural products. In addition, we want theatre to be an opportunity for dialogue between artists and participants, therefore all performances in the micro-season will be followed by discussions with the audience, in which we invite you to participate. The moderators will be theatre critics Oana Cristea Grigorescu, Oltița Cîntec, Cristina Modreanu and Daniela Șilindean. Discussions will be held in Romanian, and the theatre will provide simultaneous translation into German and English.

The aim of IATC is to bring theatre critics together to promote international cooperation. Its main objectives are to promote theatre criticism as a discipline and to contribute to the development of its methodological foundations; to protect the ethical and professional interests of theatre critics and to promote the common rights of all its members; to contribute to mutual knowledge and understanding between cultures by encouraging international meetings and exchanges in the field of theatre in general.
