22 October 2018

The Romanian Theater Association has announced on Monday, 7th of May 2018, the winners of the 26th edition of the UNITER Gala. The German State Theater, nominated three times, won two prizes.

As such, the category for Best Scenography, was awarded to Helmut Stürmer (scenery) and Ioana Popescu (costumes and live sand paintings) – she is a member of the German Theater staff – for their extraordinary work at The Incredible and Sad Tale of Innocent Eréndira and Her Heartless Grandmother.

In addition, Yuri Kordonsky won the prize for Best Direction. He was nominated for the same play.
